Hot spots:
Great lake and Lake Burbury; have had and will continue to have some fantastic midge fishing among the wind slicks of the early mornings and late evenings for the next few weeks (depending on the weather). Red tags and royal wolfs in sizes 16 and 18s are great fly choices for enticing an eat from these sometimes weary fish.
Northern Rivers; are fishing well at the moment with plenty of fish willing to eat dries, especially large rubber leggy dry fly patterns. Coming into late summer and into autumn there are plenty of hoppers and other large terrestrial insects getting about.
North Coast; Saltwater fishing is at its prime at the moment with plenty of salmon bust ups and good sized whiting being caught consistently, and the odd king fish being found also, usually on large flies.
East Coast; Saltwater has plenty of great fly fishing opportunities, from shallow water bream up the back of the lagoons and estuaries to mako sharks and tuna off shore and everything in-between, Australian salmon, trevally, flathead, king fish, etc.
