Sex Dungeon - Fly

Kelly Galloup’s Sex Dungeon is a big, articulated streamer designed to tempt trophy fish. At least five inches long, it combines two hooks, a deer-hair head, dumbbell weight and a supple, feathered body.

Its distinctive construction creates an irresistible action: the head darts and stalls while the rear section wiggles and undulates. Available in several colours, it imitates varied prey and targets big trout, bass and pike.

Galloup believes large trout attack prey head first. Two shorter hooks help convert these aggressive strikes into solid hookups.

Fish it on a sinking line with a short, strong leader. In moving water, cast across and slightly upstream, then use an aggressive jerk-strip retrieve. Point the rod at the fly, jerk downstream and gather slack as you reset.

The aim is to suggest injured prey invading a predator’s territory: vulnerable enough to attack, but lively enough to escape. Expect explosive strikes from fish.
