The end of the season can be great. Conditions cool down, days shorten, but they are often mild and there is less wind. Trout know the time is coming to spawn in a month or two, so they will be looking for food, before they start thinking about sex.

My suggestion is go looking - our staff are still out looking and finding plenty of fish. It may be the best fishing we have seen for a while. Allan caught his personal best in the 19 Lagoons in middle March. Chris caught a lovely brown in the Western Lakes - also in March. Mike had a great day on the South Esk on April Fools day, but he fooled at least 6 fish on small dry flies. Jules continues her favourite fishing on the streams, both nymphing and with dries.

We may keep a few secrets to ourselves, but happy to give you advice on where to go and what to use. Above all though, get out and go looking, there is still plenty of good fishing to be had.
You don't need to travel too far in Tasmania to find fish either. Fuel may be going up, so share your day with a mate, fish slowly, don't false cast too much. Remember, nothing good happens quickly - including striking.
Our shop is closed Easter Saturday, but the Online Store is Open 24/7 - and you get some free flies with an online purchase until Tuesday. Just pop a note in, saying what kind of fishing you do and we will include a little Easter present!
Happy Easter.
