In general Bill does casting on the first Sunday each month.
Learn to Flyfish Course - now at Clarendon Estate on the South Esk River.
After the course is finished you are welcome to stay and have a fish on the South Esk River. Ensure you have a license though.
BILL Greensmith Course
These are personalised courses, limited in numbers and focusing on casting. These are suitable for beginners to intermediate, with fault fixing and/or those wanting to learn to be better casters. These are run by accredited CCI casting instructor, Bill Greensmith - and other assistants. It is not limited to casting and any questions on fly fishing are encouraged and answered. You will learn to be a good caster with plenty of info to progress your fly fishing experience. Bring your own gear or let us know if you need gear supplied.
This course will be 3-4 hours duration from 10am until 2pm. It is limited in number so everyone gets good instruction.
Included are many techniques - such as:
Single haul. Double haul.
Roll casting on the on shoulder and off shoulder.
Slack line presentations – Pile cast and wiggle cast.
Accuracy casting from 20 to 70ft.
The Learn to Fly Fish Course is at Clarendon Estate - the home of the Australian Fly Fishing Museum.

This is run by CCI casting instructor, BILL Greensmith.
These are more personalised courses suitable for people from beginners to intermediate, with primary emphasis on casting, but not limited to that. Bill will concentrate on improving your casting skills, fault fixing and/or for those wanting to learn Advanced Fly Casting. These courses are with Bill Greensmith - and other assistants who can help with any fly fishing queries.
This course will be around 3-4 hours duration from 10am until 2pm. It is limited in number so everyone gets good instruction.
If you don’t have any gear that is fine, but please let Bill know so he can organize. Otherwise please take your own.
If you want us to setup an outfit for you please let us know. They are available from under $400, but the better outfits start at $500 or so. We can tailor something to suit you budget and where and how you plan to fish.
If you want help setting you gear up – we can help do that too.
A chair is handy as is a drink. Please also ensure you have sun or safety glasses and a hat and sunscreen.
There are toilets, tea and coffee making facilities at the Fly Fishing Museum and you are welcome to use. There is a bakery and shops at Evandale as well. Please park in the main carpark near the front gate.
