Learn To Nymph

I was lucky enough to spend time on the water with David Ferreras and Pablo Pinos world fly fishing champions from Spain, in their Tasmanian clinic on the Meander river. I learnt a lot from those two guys in only two days on the water. A lot of us would know euro nymphing but Spanish nymphing is a bit different. You have a long thin leader and lighter nymphs then you would when euro nymphing. another difference between the two is adding a curve into your leader instead of having a straight leader this allows the fish to eat the fly more easily and without feeling the line. The curve in your leader will straighten out when a fish eats your fly which acts as your indicator. You can also cast a lot further with their leader. If you're interested in getting into euro nymphing or Spanish nymphing come into the shop or give us a call we have the gear and knowledge to help you get started or improve your nymphing.
